| Internal medicine physicians are specially trained in treating
adult patients 18 years and older. The physicians are equipped to address
common adult illness and preventive care as well as solving difficult,
chronic or multiple diagnostic problems. They do not deliver babies, treat
children or perform surgery. At the Alexandria Clinic, our Internal Medicine
Department provides testing that includes echocardiography, gastroscopy,
colonoscopy, Holter monitoring and pulmonary function testing. |

Isam M. Alakhras M.D. Dr. Isam
Alakhras is board certified in internal medicine and hematology. He received his M.D.
degree from the School of Medicine at University of Jordan in
Amman, Jordan. His initial post-graduate medical training was at King Hussein
Cancer Center from 1999 until 2002 in Amman, Jordan. He moved to Buffalo,
NY in 2002 to begin training in internal medicine at State University
of New York in Buffalo, NY. He also spent two years of graduate training in
hematology at State University. His special interest is in the biology and
management of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He enjoys reading, traveling and listening
to music. Dr. Alakhras joined Alexandria Clinic, P.A. as a hospitalist in
July 2007.

John W. Emblom D.O. Dr. John Emblom
graduated from high school in Sauk Centre, MN and attended the University
of Minnesota-Duluth, where he received his B.A. degree with magna cum laude
honors. His education continued at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis
in Physiology. After receiving his D.O. degree, his
internship and residency were completed at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City,
MO.
Dr. Emblom joined the Alexandria Clinic, P.A. in January 1998. He is
board certified with the American Board of Osteopathic Internists, a member
of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic
Internists and the Minnesota Medical Association.
Dr. Emblom resides in Alexandria.

Jeffery R. Olive M.D. Dr. Olive
is a native Minnesotan. He was born and attended high school in St., Paul,
MN. He graduated from Bemidji State University with undergraduate
degrees in chemistry and physics. Dr. Olive received his M.D.
degree from St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. He completed his
residency training in internal medicine at Abbott Northwestern Hospital
in Minneapolis, MN. He also spent two years of graduate training in exercise
physiology and cardiac rehabilitation at St. Cloud State University in
St. Cloud, MN. Dr.
Olive has extensive training and interest in diabetes and is an active member
in the American Diabetes Association. He is board certified in internal
medicine.
Dr. Olive previously practiced in St. Paul, MN at a clinic specializing
in internal medicine and endocrinology at Naples Health Care Associates
in Naples, FL, where he was doing both mobile medicine and traditional office-based
internal medicine.
Dr. Olive’s wife, Cindy, is a Registered Nurse. They live in Alexandria with
their two black and white Springer Spaniels.

Daniela T. Ouzounova M.D.
Dr. Daniela Ouzounova was born in Bulgaria. She completed Medical School
in Sofia, Bulgaria and then residency in physical medicine and
rehabilitation. Dr. Ouzounova and her family immigrated to the United
States in 1993. In 1999 she completed her internal medicine residency at
the University of North Dakota in Fargo, ND.
Dr. Ouzounova joined Alexandria Clinic, P.A. in July 1999 and is a
member of the Minnesota Medical Association and American College of
Physicians. She is a board certified internal medicine physician. She
has special interest in women’s health, preventive medicine and
cardiology.
Dr. Ouzounova and her husband Zack have two daughters. She enjoys
swimming, music, hiking and traveling.

Ronald P. Verant M.D. Dr.
Ronald Verant graduated from Chisholm, Minnesota and received his B.A.
degree at the University of St. Thomas of St. Paul, MN in 1976.
Continuing his education at the University of Minnesota Medical School,
he received his M.D. degree in 1981. Dr. Verant completed his internal
medicine residency in 1984 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in
Minneapolis, MN. He is board certified in internal medicine as an adult
medicine specialist.
Dr. Verant is a member of the American College of Physicians and the
American Society of Echocardiography. He has a special interest in
cardiology and has additional training in noninvasive diagnostic
cardiology. Dr. Verant is medical director of the Cardiopulmonary
Department at the Alexandria Clinic in conjunction with the Minneapolis
Heart Institute. He has been a member of the Alexandria Clinic since
1984.
Dr. Verant and his wife Dianne have three children. He enjoys hunting,
fishing, sports, and outdoor activities in addition to the caring of his
patients.
