Seizures
are caused by abnormal electrical discharges in the brain. Symptoms may
vary depending on the part of the brain that is involved, but seizures
often cause unusual sensations, uncontrollable muscle spasms and loss of
consciousness.
Here are some tips to help a person that may be having a seizure:

Remove any nearby
objects that may cause injury.

Loosen any tight
clothing.

Once seizures stop,
turn victim on side.

Call 911 if prolonged
seizures or no history of seizures.

Monitor airway and
breathing.
-
Do not give the
victim anything to eat or drink.
